How To Be Mentally Strong

Man up, toughen up, harden up. These are some of the things we are told growing up, but do they make us mentally stronger?

Mentally strong people don’t follow the herd, they don’t externalize their power, they don’t play it small, they don’t feel sorry for themselves and they don’t try to please everyone.

So the question now is: How to be mentally strong?

  1. How To Be Mentally Strong? Tip n.1: Go into the wilderness

The wilderness is a scary place. It’s only you, you and you. What are you going to do? Are you going to run? Where are you going to go?

It’s not about being in resistance to who you truly are. Allow yourself to feel any emotion, any sensation flowing through your veins. In your darkest moments is where you will become illuminated.

A lot of people want to be around their friends 24/7. We all love people, family and relatives but at the same time you have to go through a rite of passage to step in the process of becoming your greatest version.

What we think is a breakdown is only a breakthrough. Wherever you may be going to, see it as an opportunity to propel yourself to limitless heights.

When there is no union between your thoughts and feelings, there is a problem because you don’t feel comfortable to who you are.

Once you can surrender to who you are, you can let go of the past.

The wilderness is the path where we exercise our gift of self transformation, where we let go of the old ways and realize that every day is a new start. This is how to be mentally strong.

  2. How To Be Mentally Strong? Tip n.2: Be Vulnerable

You don’t need a thick skin. What is more powerful, being open or being closed? Many people are desensitized not only from themselves but from the world around them.

Separation is the foundation of fear. The more you open up to the world, the more benefits you’ll be able to rip off. This happens because you participate to the law of exchange.

When we go through challenging life situations and circumstances we have that emotional and mental strength because we can adapt.

When you are closed, you are rigid and don’t want to change. But the only constant in the universe is change. Change is the reason why you are able to be emotionally and mentally strong.

Being open is a phenomenal way to start building your mental strength. How can you do that? Start by talking to a complete stranger. Follow your intuition.

Trust yourself. Doubts decrease your mental strength. What you place in your mind expresses itself in your body. What you express in your body is created within your mind. The two are interconnected.

Being vulnerable is a wonderful thing. Many people hide themselves behind a mask only to come home and find out that they are still wearing it.

Express yourself. Whenever you are able to express yourself 100%, your mental strength increases.

Learn how to fall. Make sure to tell people that you are not perfect. You are in the process of becoming your greatest version, but at the same time you are open for the world to see your flaws. All that will help you become mentally strong.

  3. How To Be Mentally Strong? Tip n.3: Know Your Roots

You have to develop 100% transparency to build mental strength. What do you stand for? What do you live for? What do you have to offer to the world? All this can increase your mental strength. It gives you more willpower to live.

Knowing your roots is about knowing where you came from. The more you discover what you are passionate about, the more your mental strength grows.

  4. How To Be Mentally Strong? Tip n.4: Put Things In Perspective

What happens when you feel that the whole universe revolves around you? You start over thinking, ruminating. Thinking too much is a waste of energy.

When you step back and see the bigger picture, you develop more clarity. Clarity is the catalyst for developing more mental strength. Your problems aren’t that big, but they are if you focus on them all the time.

You have to become aware of what takes away your mental strength. Most of the times what takes it away are energy depleting activities.

Your attitude governs whether an activity is energy generating or energy depleting. By looking at your attitude you will be able to be mentally stronger.

In a world where there are so many distracting things, you have to stay focused on your true goal, mission and dreams.

When you start taking responsibility, at any time life could change. Be open. If not now, when?
